Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Salt-N-Pepa's iconic album 'Very Necessary,' Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is set to release the 'Very Necessary (30th Anniversary Edition)' on October 20th! Originally launched on October 12, 1993, the album marked a significant milestone for the trailblazing trio - Cheryl “Salt” James, Sandra “Pepa” Denton, and Deidra “DJ Spinderella” Roper.

The album's 30th-anniversary edition will be available as a limited-edition deluxe double LP, a two-CD deluxe package, and a digital deluxe version. You can find it here: [https://saltnpepa.lnk.to/VeryNecessary30th].

Pepa [Sandra Denton] expressed her gratitude in Billboard magazine, stating, "When we started out, people questioned if hip-hop would even last. Here we are 30 years later, celebrating the anniversary of Very Necessary, ourselves as women, and our contributions to the 50-year legacy of hip hop. It's a beautiful thing! Thank you to all our fans for keeping Salt-N-Pepa alive and relevant all these years."

'Very Necessary' produced three of the group's unforgettable hits: "Shoop," their first top-five single on the Billboard Hot 100; "Whatta Man," featuring En Vogue, reaching the top three on the Hot 100; and "None of Your Business," earning them their first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. The album, now quintuple-platinum certified, also peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

The limited-edition deluxe double LP version of 'Very Necessary (30th Anniversary Edition)' includes four bonus tracks on blue vinyl, featuring "Emphatically No," a remix of "Shoop," and two new remixes of "Whatta Man." The two-CD deluxe and digital deluxe editions offer a total of 13 bonus tracks, along with various alternate mixes, a cappella versions, and instrumental tracks. The two-CD deluxe edition also includes liner notes detailing the making of "Shoop."

As we celebrate this hip-hop milestone, we can't help but reminisce on all the ways Salt-N-Pepa's legacy has influenced and shaped the culture and sound over the past three decades.
